Here in Reno, NV. we have many more Scrub Jays visiting our feeders this Summer than we have ever seen.
They have driven off all but a few of the other birds we used to see, even the Eurasian collard doves, and flick all the seed off the feeder onto the ground for the Squirrels.
The seed is the same we have always use but it is hotter and dryer this summer.
Is there a reason for this population increase?
We sure would like to have our variety of birds back.
Thanks.
