ChristyParticipantI don't know if I have improved, but I have really enjoyed this class!in reply to: See How Far You’ve Come #653378

ChristyParticipantFirst I painted the chiminea, then I came back and added the foreground and background. I haven't had time do a landscape at my favorite spots yet. But I'm looking forward to increasing my skills. I'm having a lot of fun especially mixing the colors. I'm looking forward to adding color to my journal.in reply to: Filling Your Sketches with Color #650862

ChristyParticipantI tried some pansies with the wet on dry technique. (Didn't know that was what I was doing when I painted this>) I was mainly trying to match the colors. This is the first thing I have ever painted. I'm not sure how to work in all of the details using water colors. I would like to use water colors in my journal, especially when coloring the birds I see. Also leaves and plants.in reply to: Getting Comfortable with Watercolor #649034

ChristyParticipantThis was fun, but difficult. The feet were really hard. I was able to view the subject as a collection of shapes and lines. I have never drawn anything but stick figures - I hope I can get better with practice. I love this course.in reply to: Drawing What You See – Upside Down Drawing #648714

ChristyParticipantThis wasn't easy. The best thing about this exercise - again is to help me become more observant.in reply to: Focusing on Your Subject – Blind Contour Drawing #648351

ChristyParticipantI have been putting this off because of rain and then we had a hard freeze last night so there went the flowers. So I chose the berries. This assignment is great because it is really helping me to be more observant. I'm having fun with these challanges.in reply to: The Power of Comparison #648310

ChristyParticipantThis is really fun. I love writing down my observations, explanations, and questions. I haven't figured out my style yet, but hopefully I will before the end of this class.in reply to: Noticing Themes in Nature #648142

ChristyParticipantDrawing the photo was challenging for me. I am NOT an artist. None of it came easily for me. But I think the biggest challenge is the patience to get all of the details in. I would not have noticed the moss and lichen if I had not drawn this. I am lacking details on the warbler, but I hope I can get better. I am excited to learn how to journal and sketch!in reply to: Jump Right in! #646385
