I found the exercise challenging, and the results didn’t look even close to what I was suppose to be drawing.  But there are a few spots here and there I can recognized, so I guess that is encouraging.  Will just have to continue to practice.

    1. This is the first time I did a comparison study and I found it to be really helpful.  It helped me to observe the differences and similarities and guided some of my observations.  I feel that it helped me study to object in more depth, and will help to grow my observation skills. 2.  I think this is helpful to from time to time include all this information in my journal.  It will help later to identify certain objects and most definitely expand my knowledge of the variety of objects found in nature all around me.

    1.  I was Ok with drawing from the photo, even though I haven't drawn for a while, so felt a little rusty.  Struggled a little getting the shape and the angle of the body right.  I decided to use water color and see what that looks like. I really like the added effect of color to the page, and it is so much quicker than trying to do this with pencils.  Obviously need to learn how to probably mix and paint so colors don't run into each other.  I like the effect of the added on the page. 2.  I wouldn't have noticed how his little feet curl around the branch or the specific shape of the fat little body.  Noticing the details absolutely will make a difference.  It takes the experience of just seeing something to actually experience it on a more intemate level.  In one of the videos one of the nature journalers said, she developed a relationship with the object she was drawing.  I think really looking at something when I'm drawing it, makes me more intimately familiar with the object, and helps me to develop a relationship with the object.

    1.  What inspired me - I came across Claire Leslie Walker's journaling and since then been wanting to do nature journaling.  I love nature and I love art, and I love seeing the combination of journaling and art together.  I've started a journal several years ago with my children, and even though we have fun, we stopped.  Life gets busy. 2.  I'd like to try the combination of art and notes. I love the idea of using water color. I've been using color pencils which can take a long time, and then when I get busy I don't have the time to do this.  I also struggle with drawing live objects, so I'll get pictures and draw that but that removes you from experiencing that in nature.  I'm looking forward to making this a part of my life.
