30991378-63D3-496D-B8E7-C2A02C463F50I took art classes in both high school and college. However, I have learned so much more from this course.  Liz Clayton Fuller is an amazing teacher. She thoroughly gave us in-depth instructions for drawing and watercolor skills and techniques.  I especially benefited from from the lessons on adding color to my sketches. I think my biggest difficulty is being patient, and waiting for my watercolors to dry before moving to the next step.   I enjoyed all the lessons, and looked forward to working on the class assignments.  I hope to continue using all that I learned on future art projects.

I enjoy drawing, and I love nature!  135673DB-E121-44F8-ACD8-8CD19CBCDA77So I hope to put the two together to create, document and expand my knowledge of the natural world. Plus, this course was a birthday gift from my husband  Lucky me! I spend a lot of time outdoors, and I rarely miss the chance to take in all the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer.  I love to take the time to look, observe, and notice the subtle changes and happenings that occur around the lake, where I am so fortunate to live. I hope to keep a record of the flora and fauna on a regular basis. I plan to  draw first,  use watercolor and ink at times and add interesting information/facts about my subject matter. I also plan to record date, weather and location in my journal. I’m not sure of my format yet.  I’m just going to see how it evolves.

I like drawing from a photo. It is so much easier to draw a still subject rather than a moving subject. I do feel I spent too much time on details, and trying to get the drawing perfect.  I hope to be more spontaneous, and draw/sketch more quickly/freely in the future. However, drawing from the photo gave me the opportunity to see more details on the bird.  I especially focused on the beautiful brown streaks on its breast, and its very fine wing feathers.  Such a wonderful little bird!96804CCE-F12B-485F-85F4-FB8B1A85559B
