NancyParticipantIt's February in Maine so a bit too cold to sit outside but it was a beautiful sunny, windy day all the same. I drove a few miles to the beach and sat and watched the waves crashing on the rocks. While sitting there I spotted something on one of the rocks and broke out my binoculars. there were 4 tiny little birds on one rock and they stayed there for the longest time just moving about on the small rock. even with my binoculars I couldn't tell what birds they were or what exactly they were doing. I did watch them move in chorus to the other side of their small rock when a wave approached that would shed water on their rock. eventually they took off and unfortunutely I didn't witness their leaving. Curious though there were thousands upon thousands of rocks in that area and they remained on that one only and I never saw any other birds anywhere in the vicinity. as you can see I'm no great artist but I enjoyed myself and found it peacefulin reply to: Opening Your Senses #664026

NancyParticipantI love the milkweed pods and silk. I like to sketch them too. They always bring back fond memories for me. My grandmother was a floral designer and would always send me outside to gather dry milkweed pods for her to use in her arrangements. you did a nice job.in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #663674

NancyParticipantHi Deanna, nice job on the cat, especially. I've been drawing my cats over the years and they don't generally come out as good as yours. well done!in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #663672

NancyParticipantIt took me a long time. I really struggle with drawing skills trying to get right angles and lines, etc. if the subject were moving it would really be a challenge for me to make a likeness of what I was seeing. getting values correct also I find challenging. still, I enjoyed it and hope to improve with this class and all that we are going to learn.in reply to: Jump Right in! #663402

NancyParticipantI just love nature and recording the beauty I see around me. I particularly love how when you create and image and look at it even years later how you are brought back to the place and memories of that day. The journals here were great to see. Thanks for sharing them, I saw a number of things I really like and will try to adopt and incorporate into my own journal. I like the boxes and how the images came outside of their respective boxes. I liked the magnification of certain details. I likes how one person did a drawing each day, how she spread it about on the pages, the variety of things that she drew and how she numbered each page. Everyone did such a great job, Thanks for the inspiration !in reply to: Style Your Journal Your Way #662234
