I find the right proportions difficult to achieve. The different ways for shading were most helpful. -

It was challenging, but very interesting for me to detach from the idea of what I was drawing.

It was an interesting exercise. I was surprised that even if they are awkward, the drawings seem more alive and the movement is expressed.

I found the techniques very helpful although I am working in a small scale which I imagine is easier. I have trouble with the squint testbut I imagine it is a question of practice.

I was able to take my time so I guess it felt easier than nature journalism. The texture was less challenging than what I thought but the form was challenging. I would´t have noticed the different levels of the wings or the subtle orange stripes in the body. Yes, I think it must be quite different To catch details and poses in live movement,
