JenniferParticipantThe first time I heard barred owls caterwauling I thought they sounded like monkeys, not likely in Canada😁. We have Saw whet owls calling in the spring and Great greys here every other winter. I have never heard a sound like that that come from a deer, so that one surprised me.in reply to: Is It An Owl? #865415

JenniferParticipantDid this from a photo I took while out hiking. I found the thistle difficult to get the colour accurate and the spikes were challenging. I’ve never used water colour before, I really enjoyed it. I’m happy with how the bumble turned out.in reply to: Filling Your Sketches with Color #728976

This was fun. Slowly getting better at drawing what I see. I’m still finding that drawing in the field is very challenging, photos are easier.. they don’t decide to leave just as you get started 🙂. Jen

JenniferParticipantI found this very challenging but was amazed how the grapefruit took shape. Its a relaxing exercise to closely observe such everyday objects. I found this time of day( late afternoon)the light changed quickly so I just had to pick one and go with it.in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #699845

JenniferParticipantFirst drawing of a bird. A little rough, found the proportions hard to recreate. However not a stick person (:in reply to: Jump Right in! #697095

JenniferParticipantI have a keen interest in nature and spend many hours alone enjoying the woods near my home. I do not have any art experience at all but wanted to explore that side of myself. This course seemed like a good way to combine my interests. I really like the idea of a monthly page in my journal. Where I live is very seasonal and it would be fun to capture the monthly rhythms with art. We’ll see how it goes! Jennyin reply to: Style Your Journal Your Way #697085
