That was fun...and tedious. :) I actually worked on this over couple of different weekends because I got distracted by the watercolors and experimenting with that. (More on that later!) For now, here's my upside-down sparrow. I think he turned out OK! drawing -- sparrow.001

I first tried my hand at blind contour drawing in a painting class I took a few years ago. It was fun to try again. Here are my samples, which hopefully are recognizable. :) As others have done, I found it interesting to mark the start and end points after the fact, and to call out spots that looked reasonably close (though those notes aren't all visible in the photos). 1. I’ve been doing some drawing and painting for fun, and have even taken a painting class, and nature journaling seemed like a great way to combine the fun of drawing with really paying attention to nature and capturing (or attempting to, at least) its beauty in a really personal way. 2. All are really interesting. I liked the inset/boxed-in images approach, and also the attempt to draw one thing per day (though that would be really challenging!). I’m sure I’ll end up with some mix of all these approaches, and it’s probably good to vary and try different things, too. 3. Not yet, but I’m sure I’ll end up with my own style at some point.
