I drew my cat and some grackles that were on my porch. The grackle drawings are from photos I took, because it was too wet to draw outside today. I also did a drawing where I zoomed in on my cat's fluffy ear - it has a little tuft on the end! -
Gesture drawing is quite difficult — I like the challenge, though! I drew a stink bug climbing on top of my feeder and the foxes from the video. I zoomed in on my favorite sketch from the stink bug drawing here.

This was fun! I like working with shadow and adding 3D effects to my drawings. I drew a banana and a tangelo. :)

I liked drawing from the photo, because photos don’t move around like real birds do. I haven't actually tried sketching a bird in real time, though, and I can't wait to do that at some point!
If I hadn't been asked to draw the photo, I probably wouldn't have noticed a lot of the smaller details like the moss on the branch or the positioning of the warbler's legs.
I'm excited to do this again at the end of the course and see how my drawing has changed! :)
