LindsayParticipantI enjoyed this very much. Great way to disconnect the brain from the symbolic drawing trap.in reply to: Drawing What You See – Upside Down Drawing #766641

LindsayParticipantDrawing slowed me down and allowed me to really see the breast markings and the shape of the birds beak. I even took time to identify that this is the male of the species. Drawing is like meditation when I'm in the flow. Had to quiet unhelpful self talk first.in reply to: Jump Right in! #762037

LindsayParticipantHeather, I love your bird here. I too am thinking of getting an ipad pro and pencil. Your line quality is so wonderful...not at all overly finished as I would have expected a digital drawing to look. Thanks you for sharing your zebra finch! Looking forward to this class. LindsayParticipantDuring Covid lock down, I have been appreciating the birds both in my neighborhood and a near by conserved area where I hike regularly. I had never really paid much attention to the bird feeders set up at the start of the trail. But discovering the feeder cams at Cornell, the need to connect with something larger than myself during covid and a desire to dust off my observational drawing skills impelled me to sign up for this class. I want to include the weather and other observations, not just isolated bird drawings. I'll use the live cam to practice quick sketching. For my approach, I want to include a mix of loose and organized sketches.in reply to: Style Your Journal Your Way #761833
