    1.  The Dark Eyed Juncos operate as a flock (apart from one brave little guy who comes to the feeder) I see them in the trees or on the grass, if one startles they all do.  2.  We are lucky to have three different species of woodpecker on our feeder.  The Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers will stay on the suet feeder for several minutes, taking beak full after beak full of food, the Red Headed Woodpecker however only feeds from the peanut feeder, and never stays more than a few seconds.  Of the other birds, I always notice how incredibly speedy the Tufted Titmouse's visits are, compared to the sparrows.

Activity 3.  I did not know the the Fish Crow, Ring Billed Gull, Great Egret, Herring Gull or Northern Pintail could be found so near to where I live.  I shall be researching not only these birds, but also the location that I found on e-Bird where people have seen them.

Activity 1.  I can tell the Northern Cardinal by shape, because of the the crest and the long tail, also the Mourning Dove, they are so sleek. Activity 3. We have a Red Shouldered Hawk who uses our property as part of his territory.  He will sit on our fence and keep a close eye on the ground where he knows we have moles, occasionally I get to see him leap downwards with his talons out and then fly off with the poor rodent.  His patience and stillness is wonderful to watch. Activity 4.  I haven't actually managed to see this bird, but I have been identify the Yellow Bellied Sapsucker, by his call, drumming rhythm and flight pattern.

Activity 2.  I have been a long time bird lover, but very poorly educated, particularly with US birds, so the pandemic has given me time and opportunity to learn more about the birds I see.  I have been keeping a track of the birds that I see on my feeders and on my property and there is a much greater variety than I expected. In fact I have seen 18 different species since I started taking note and I can confirm that the Merlin app is very good!  Most exciting to me was three different species of sparrow, House Sparrow, Song Sparrow and White Throated Sparrow.  In the UK we only had one type.

Activity 1. I picked three birds, the White Throated Dipper, who was a favorite of mine as a child growing up in the UK, he was very polite and curtseyed to us as we walked by.  The other two are the Vulture Guineafowl and the King Vulture.  I love vultures, I think they're fascinating and they provide such a very necessary service to our environment, I learned a couple of years ago that some of them can even safely ingest Anthrax, so powerful are their digestive juices.
