JasonParticipantActivity 4 is one I look forward to trying. In my bird garden, I usually see Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, House Finches, and woodpeckers in the winter. However, I have been lucky enough to spot Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks in the spring and summer!in reply to: Activities: Different Seasons, Different Birds #1027979

JasonParticipantThese lessons have helped me so much, in ways that will make my birding a hundred times better! Sitting and watching birds at my window is probably best since I have window bird feeders. I have had so many birds come to the window feeders such as Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, Blue Jays, Red-bellied Woodpeckers, Downy Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, most Finches, Cowbirds, Chipping Sparrow, and Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds. Watching Birds is truly one of the most relaxing and fun activities. (This is a Red-Bellied Woodpecker at my window suet feeder)in reply to: Activities: Local Bird Exploration #1027667

JasonParticipantI can not believe how cold the hummingbirds get, and how much they eat compared to humans! Truly amazing.in reply to: How Hummingbirds Rule the Nectar World #1026049

JasonParticipantWhere I live there are Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds! They are a sight to see, with the male's beautiful red neck and the female's lush green back. Every once in a while one will come zipping up to my window hummingbird feeder and I can watch them drink the nectar. I hope to see one nesting soon! Thank you so much for this course!in reply to: What Makes a Hummingbird a Hummingbird #1025434
