This was a challenge for me. I am used to watercolor, and it was difficult not to be able to lift out color. I am not sure that I agree that there are no mistakes with acrylics. I made plenty.
I am used to watercolor and had a hard time adjusting to acrylic. Gonna have to practice. I used acrylic paper for this one, so it’s a bit textured, and abandoned the water brushes. I simply couldn’t control the amount of water with them.
Here’s my first watercolor painting of an immature barn swallow. I take lots of bird photos, and others have made paintings from my photos, and I have wanted to do the same. This course gave me the tools and courage to give it a try. I have lots of room for improvement, and am looking forward to my next attempt. The challenge is in deciding what to tackle next.
