What is the best time of year to put up new owl nest boxes (specifically Eastern Screech, Barred, and Barn owl) to get ahead of the time frame when owls scout for a new nest?  The goal is to put live stream cameras in the boxes first, so as not to disturb the owls after they have chosen the nest.  The cameras are expensive and we have done a lot of research on the best locations to hang the boxes too.   Would you try to hang them now (early to mid January ) or wait until next fall?
