Hallo, We use camera's to record images of the tiny owl and the barn owl in nestboxes. Therefore we use 850 nm LEDs for tiny owls or 940 LEDs for the barn owl. We don't know the distorting effect of these wavelengths ? Does anybody know the effects of IR radiation on the visible light spectrum of both owls? Actually we want to use the lower-cost, lower energy 850 nm LED's. But we are afraid that, especially the barn owl, will be distorted by this wavelength. I hope that somebody can help.
