      I will get a picture, however in the mean time, he has a brilliant (almost neon) dark green body and head with a white ring completely circling his neck. He is a welcomed visitor to my feeder outside my window. His first appearance was April 19, 2020. He sips 4 times then is gone. So as you can tell it is hard for me to grab my phone to capture a picture. I have been able to ID all the Hummers that visit me throughout the years. This one is an anomaly. I live in Salisbury, North Carolina, just northeast of Charlotte. Would love some help on this please?

      Maybe it's one of your usual species of hummingbirds but it has partial leucism?  I'm looking forward to seeing the photo.  I'm curious too.

      Does she look like this? see attached pic. Screenshot from birding app. They are very common in your area. copyrighted image removed

        Hi Tom! Thanks for your prompt reply. Unfortunately, he doesn't look anything like the Rubies we commonly have here. That is precisely the reason I am having such difficulty ID'ing him. I now have my phone set up at the window, already set at the camera function and ready to go when he shows up again.

        @Sandy Yea, I figured based on their abundance and that you said you’ve been identifying these hummers for years but I thought I’d take a shot at it.  Maybe it’s some hybrid.  The pic will help for sure.  It will be interesting to see if the Merlin app can ID it once you have the picture.
