Hello,
I am working on an article and have a question about the pelican horn.
I have looked everywhere and can not find the answer to my question.
Is the male pelican the only one that has the horn?
Based on my understanding, both male and female pelicans have horns. In Merlin Bird ID, the pictures with pelican horns are labeled as Breeding Adult, which would imply that both have horns
Also, I am confused that it states the growth of the horn is only during the breeding season and will fall off after the eggs are laid. It's November and I see pelicans that still have horns.
