The Cornell Lab Bird Academy Discussion Groups The Wonderful World of Hummingbirds Decline in hummingbird populations in hotter regions?

    • I just read this article recently, https://amp.fresnobee.com/news/local/article311451170.html, which covers the Fresno/Clovis in California and I realized that I've been seeing what I think is a decline in the number of Anna's Hummingbirds (generally regarded as year-round residents but who do migrate altitudinally to follow food sources) at my feeders over the years in Redding, California as well. My region also has a reputation for high summer heat. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed anything similar.
