While I was biking the other day, I found this little spot called The Jim King Pond. It's a nice little pond with two mute swans and a pair of Canada geese. The easiest observations where the details to the birds, but what was a little outside of the box was actually the landscaping. IMG_20200405_122119

IMG_20200323_170254I felt not very confident going in to this, but the results turned out pretty well, although I am more accustomed to  drawing larger birds. A detail that I Would have missed would most likely be the feather detail. This would make a big difference.

I have always been an avid birder, birds have been a part of my life since I was about three years old. I love drawing our feathered friends, and want to get better at it, but I would also like to keep track, which is how I found nature journaling. I want to try to go out in nature, sketch birds and take note. And I do not really have any journaling ideas, would like to learn techniques to help get better.
