I am happy to be here and excited to explore the course and sharpen my skills.  I did not have a favorite style of journaling and am grateful to all those who shared theirs.  My time is divided between Nashville, TN and Cape Cod, MA with side trips around the United States most often with the Sierra Club. I am retired, active in conservation education, citizen science and also a life long birder.  I often write poems about the birds and things I see.  I have signed up for this course so I will have a better chance of moving the pictures in my brain to illustrations on paper.

Hi Pat,   When my granddaughter was two we also examined acorns.  At that time I tried to personalize what we were talking about.  I am attaching a sketch of that conversation.  The words are: Sarah holds acorns in her hand.  Some wear hats.  I also then wrote a poem about her. IMG_1209 (1)

I had forgotten about Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.  I have lost sight of my copy and the desire to draw..until now.

I love the honesty in your drawing.  I have recently been attending art auctions in my area and have seen some very simple paintings attract attention and not just from those in the "my second grader draws just like that" school of art criticism..     TDSC00224hank you for sharing...
