I am finding my pens leak water really fast also, even with the most delicate handling. The only thing I have found so far is to try to keep the pen vertical as much as possible until I turn it to use it. That helps a bit. Also, less water comes out when I try to mix the colors with the pen more horizontal, and then the paints don't get as diluted and runny as well.
