I moderate the Bird Academy community discussion groups, including forums open to the public and those specifically for students in our courses. It is important to me to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for our diverse community members as they continue learning and connecting with one another over the love of birds, nature, and art. I want participation to be fun for everyone!

I have always been interested in animals and in being outside. My undergraduate degree in animal behavior and environmental studies eventually led to my master’s focused on conservation biology. One of my other interests is traveling, especially to see wildlife and natural areas. I have been fortunate to moderate the Bird Academy forums from a variety of places around the world. Sometimes I even hear or see new birds as I answer learners’ questions!
