When I draw I always like to look at the subject as individual pieces of a total puzzle.  How does one piece connect to another.  This is also what I tell kids who say they can't draw.  This makes the process more fun and enjoyable.  I had a lot of fun doing this and when I was through I thought the body was to chubby but when I flip the image right side up, it looked really good.  I am happy with how it turned out.

I actually thought it was easier to draw from the photo since the bird wasn't moving.  I do use my iPhone camera a lot and have relied on that for documenting things. I might not have noticed the subtle coloration on the shoulder area if I had seen this bird in the field.  It does make you look a bit more closely at details.

I liked the first and last journals.  Both different but similar in style, I might try to incorporate both of those in my journaling.  There is so much to think about and we are starting a huge restoration project at my workplace.  Many trees are being removed and huge equipment has been brought in for this project as part of Project Clear which will help make the water cleaner and less polluted in the future.  It will be interesting to see how my journaling style develops and I hope with this course to be able to document the changes and improvements of this large project.  I have never really attempted to journal so thanks for this opportunity.
