DonnaParticipantThis one was fun too! Trying out these drawing skills, and with squinting it is easier to see where the highlights, light, and shadows should be placed. I am beginning to feel more comfortable putting marks on the page, and realize I'm not being graded or in a competition makes this fun and worry-free. I think I need to continue to work on this, as well as the other skills being taught in this course. Practice, practice! Thank you Liz for this course. I initially signed up to help deal with stress, I love to draw and watercolor, but need more help in improving my work. I also love nature and getting outside, so this is a win-win for me.in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #926110

DonnaParticipantHi everyone! I tried the newt, bird, bird of paradise, and springbok too. They turned out not so great, but fun to do. I tried to blind contour a whelk seashell, Christmas tree, and a cardinal. Thank you! :-)in reply to: Focusing on Your Subject – Blind Contour Drawing #925905

DonnaParticipantI enjoyed drawing from the photo because the subject wasn't moving and it's easier to pick up details and shapes. I thought seeing the shapes were easy, trying to figure out the light source direction and shading was a bit tricky for me. I have never seen a yellow warbler, so drawing it will help me remember it if I ever see one.in reply to: Jump Right in! #923715

DonnaParticipant1. I love nature and the peaceful feeling that I get reconnecting with nature. Nature journaling should allow me to slow down and improve my drawing and painting skills. 2. I think I might try the boxing in style. 3. Nothing different, but might evolve into something a bit different as I go along.in reply to: Style Your Journal Your Way #923303
