KarinParticipantI think that is what I mostly do when I am sketching something that is moving. I agree this was an UFDA hard to do. I tried it on a model bulldog pup. The drawing looked hilarious as a whole. When looking at it on just the part I did not bad. I asked the barista what she thought, not trusting my own judgement. She said she could see it. whew/ I think if we then went to shading and adding it might look like the subject?in reply to: Focusing on Your Subject – Blind Contour Drawing #872858

KarinParticipantI still have trouble remembering to but journaling in. I am so focused on the drawing. If It can be on an other page that might work. I am still working on asking the questions on paper. All my life I have be taught to observe nature and how they go together, what is different, what is the same. I tried up on the picture to compare but still working on it. I would like to compare when summer comes and the flowers and greenery are out. I have trouble getting the image to show up here.in reply to: The Power of Comparison #870941

KarinParticipantI think you have asked yourself the questions already. By the pictures and the information that flows from your drawings, even if there is no question shown. You have answered the question in your head with such amazing detail. Thank you for sharingin reply to: Noticing Themes in Nature #835887

KarinParticipantPinecones can actually be used to tell the weather. That is why you are having the spring open problem. Just get it wet again. That should help. When the weather changes, the pinecone will start to close up, if it gets cold or wet it will snap tighter then a drum. Happy drawingin reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #835776

KarinParticipantI enjoyed this beautiful drawing of your apple, Stephen. It made me want to reach out and pluck it from the screen and take a bite out of it. It looks so polished it is gleaming.in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #835771

KarinParticipantI think you did a nice job on the banana. I am having the same trouble. With my rocks, I tried scribbling, that helped a little. With curved objects try contour.in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #835769

KarinParticipantI forgot to comment: It is getting easier to concentrate, very relaxing for me. I am really struggling with shading and depth of perception. I enjoy this learning experience and can't wait to learn more. I love just grabbing notebook and pencil and just sketching what is there.in reply to: Illustrating the 3D World #835767
