ChristinaParticipant1. How did you feel about drawing from the photo? What came easily and what was challenging? I like drawing from photos because it takes away from the challenge of a moving subject. The challenge of birds, for me, is their beaks. Each bird species beak is different and unique to their role in the natural world but I can never seem to get the shape perfect!! 2. Was there anything in the photo that you might not have noticed if you weren’t asked to draw it? Would this make a difference when nature journaling? The branches are so beautiful. If I wasn't asked to draw it, I probably never would have noticed the colors and details in the branches. It definitely would make a difference in nature journaling. Being able to catch a moment in time is so amazing, being able to notice these small details quickly and efficiently so we could capture them is super important... and really fun.in reply to: Jump Right in! #647498

ChristinaParticipant1. What inspired you to begin nature journaling? I have been painting and drawing my whole life. I have always been drawn to nature (get it?! lol). My family has always encouraged me to keep going and share my art. 2. Now that you’ve heard from several other journalers about their processes, and had a peek at their journals, which ideas or approaches do you want to try? Absolutely love the idea of doing a 365-day journal or a monthly journal! What a grand idea!? 3. Do you have a different journaling idea, not mentioned here, that you’d like to share? I have a degree in animal behavior and I would love to start including observations/ ethograms with my nature sketches.in reply to: Style Your Journal Your Way #647495
