KimParticipantDoes Melissa respond to the discussion group? I would like to get a teleconverter for these to lenses and was wondering if there is one specific converter that would work for both.in reply to: Practice Matching Your Gear to Your Goals #719027

KimParticipantSince I moved to St. Augustine, FL I have these lovely birds frequent my backyard and have counted up to 20 in one visit! Today there are 4 beautiful wild turkey girls that have been hanging out all morning. ISO 800, 220mm, f/6.3, 1/400s.in reply to: Practice Understanding Birds for Better Photos #718880

KimParticipantThis is my first attempt to sketch anything e.v.e.r. I'm am really challenged at all aspects, but the proportion threw me off and had to erase several times. As a beginner, I like sketching from a picture. The bird stays still, haha. Can't imagine going out and attempting to draw something on the move right now. I'm going to bring in color and see if this looks any better.in reply to: Jump Right in! #653059

KimParticipant1. i just retired and moved to NE Florida. I have always loved hiking, kayaking, photography on an amateur level. I feel I can now take the time to put my observations on paper. But I don't draw, and this is why I'm so afraid to get started! 2.I like Holly's switch to a monthly journal because altough I like her daily one, I felt that wouldn't be able to commit to it on a daily basis. I do like the boxed in look and I think for me, I need to start as simple and slow as possible. 3. My goals in the beginning is to start slow and not beat myself up over bad pictures. I love the use of watercolor. And to just enjoy and learn from the experience.in reply to: Style Your Journal Your Way #651113
