AliceParticipantWhat strategies or tools do you use to encourage curiosity and questions? On hands observations and ask one question that leads the kids to ask additional questions. How do you inspire deeper observational and experimental questions? Creating specific projects within the program.in reply to: Launching Investigations #848727

AliceParticipantHow I wish to model teaching is by using citizen science to increase interest in Florida's amazing flora and fauna for the kids as well as adults. I strongly agree that that involvement makes anyone participating have a sense of contribution.in reply to: Citizen Science in Your Classroom #845316

AliceParticipantI have participated in project feeder watch and other citizen science projects. Currently I am working on a few citizen science projects, birds as well as flora and fauna. What we are doing is incorporating citizen science into programs. For example, National Bird Day, we are having a program about birds and will include Project Feederwatch. These are great resources to use to help gain more interest in subjects people are interested in as well as those that are like-minded. Kids are the same way, so it doesn't matter what age, if they have that inquiring mind to explore, learn and discover citizen science is for everyone.in reply to: Intro to Citizen Science #845281

AliceParticipantInquiry is such a simple concept that brings the wonder of curiosity to those that are learning and understanding about a particular subject by asking questions, investigating, exploring and discovering.in reply to: Intro to Inquiry #845233
